May and April Wrap Up: in which I return from the ends of the earth

Ok wow. Just wow. I mean I’m not really sure why I’m saying wow but just wow.

(I’m saying “wow” because I missed April’s wrap up post, and actually missed a heck of a lot of posts in both April AND May and also it’s June???? We’re halfway through the YEAR????)

It’s June. Let’s just move on ahead to the wrap up.

Writing

Well I got published for the first time ever so there’s that highlight.

I’ve been line-editing recently, and I’m happy to say that’s it’s going pretty well. I might even be so bold as to say I’ve been enjoying it. (*shockers* I usually don’t like line editing. I prefer drafting a story where I can just gleefully spew words on a page.)

I think one of the reasons I’ve been enjoying line-editing so much is because the story is just that good. And instead of feeling bored out of my mind like I’m a copyeditor for vacuum manuals, I feel like I’m polishing silver. It’s satisfying as every little tweak just makes the story that much better.

Reading

Ahhhhh….help.

Life

The highlight was performing an excerpted version of the Sleeping Beauty outdoors. I got to dance in the White Cat and Puss n Boots variation, music that I’ve adored since I was a kid (and I got to be a cat and have a really fluffy tail and swoosh it sassily around. What’s not to love?)

See my fluffy tail??!!! (I’m the one on the right. The short one)

I also got a new plant. He’s a spider plant so of course I named him Peter Parker. He’s very shy.

I also performed in a dance showcase which was amazing because it felt so good to be doing CONTEMPORARY *emotionally dances around the room*

Like, yes, I dance for a ballet company. Yes, I’ve spent plenty of time running around in pointe shoes and tutus. But my favorite roles have always leaned towards more contemporary dance, and there’s nothing like dancing in bare feet. You can just feel the floor.

I’ve also been making some big life plans but I will share those at a later time (like when they are actually in place and up and running) (which may be…..for several months. Just hang tight *telling myself to hang tight too*)

~~~~~~
So that’s May and April in a nutshell. Little wacky, at least it felt that way on my end. I’ll be posting regularly, meaning I will be posting AT LEAST once a week. I may not post twice every week because I’m trying to find time to write other things too and there are only so many hours in the day and only so many power cells in my brain.
Peace, baby.
How have you been the last two months??? Do any fun things??? Any boring things????
  1. I can’t believe it’s already June…..but anyway… I actually went to the movie theater TWICE recently. I can’t even remember the last time I went before they were all closed. So weird.
    Your performance looked so fun! I’m glad you enjoyed it. :)
    P.S. Tell Peter Parker I said hello. ;)
